at least if someone wants to buy me a shirt, they will know my size

I am supposed to be at work at 8:00 every morning.  In reality, that loosely translates to me careening into the parking lot on two wheels at approximately 7:59 a.m., Monday through Friday.  Part of the reason why I am JUST ABOUT ON TIME each each day is that I iron my outfit in the morning, but fail to build "ironing time" into my morning schedule.

Every night at approximately 9:30 I say to myself, "Self, you should really take ten minutes and iron a pair of pants before you go to sleep."

And then an internal debate takes place which inevitably ends with me deciding that I'd rather get in bed and read for an hour, and leave the ironing for the morning.

For the record, that has never been the right decision.

But things changed last night.

I decided to iron a pair of pants before bed.  It was a monumental decision and one that paid off this morning.  I had time to spare and was even able to dry my hair completely instead of just pinning the damp sections into a clip and crossing my fingers that if I put the heat on full blast in the car it will dry by the time I get to work. I also chose coordinating accessories to go with the cute blouse I was wearing AND made myself breakfast.

In short, I had it TOTALLY TOGETHER this morning.

So please imagine the disappointment I felt as I was sitting at my desk this afternoon and looked down to see this big M sticker on my shirt.

Awesome.

 Still room to improve, evidently.

Hahaha, this post is awesome! How many times I have left the stickers on my clothes and left the house, is too many to count.

New follower, loving your blog :)

Hahaha you are too funny!

Moral of the story: iron your clothes in the morning and dry your hair in the car on your way to work ;)

Sometimes it is hard to get dressed in the morning no matter how much you plan. I have to lay my outfits out the night before because my husband sleeps later than I do and I need the light in the other room. I've definitely put pants on inside out and went an entire day with my underwear on sideways. I don't even know how it happened! Haha.

hehehehe i can relate to you in so many ways with your post today. every single day i have that debate too, and the bed always wins over ironing or packing (for my case). and i can't tell you HOW many times those stupid size stickers have been hidden on my shirts, even the tags hanging in the back too!!

One time I had a new pair of jeans on...and yep, totally left the long sticker on the backside of the pant leg that tells you the width & length on all day long.

You're not alone!

hahaha! It's the little things.

Laying everything out the night before makes a HUGE difference!

LOLOLOL i am the same way - i do everything up to the final.second in the morning and JUST make my train every day (but I will say I have never ONCE missed it!...knock on wood) This post was hilarious, sometimes no matter how hard we try, it just doesn't matter! LOL

no matter, you had breakfast! And lol at drying your hair in the car. :)

This is exactly why I don't buy clothes that require ironing. If it doesn't come out of the dryer wrinkle free, I'm only wearing it once! LOL

Ha ha ha. I love this story :) I am sure I have done something similar. At least it wasn't there all day and in the middle of your back or something

Hahaha girl I am the same way!! I can never get it together in the morning, and when I think I actually do... I find a sticker, or price tag, or something insideout. Some girls were just not meant to have it all together, it makes us fun to be around I think. :)

I seriously can't tell you how many times I've gone an entire day wearing a new shirt that still has the size sticker on it. It's ridiculous, really.

I also have to be to work at 8am, and it can be tough. Much like you ironing your pants in the morning, when I started laying my outfits out (with jewelry) the night before, my morning routine was so much less stressful!

Haha! I HATE it when I do that! The worst though was when I had to go to work early one morning and we had a one-bedroom so I didn't want to turn on any lights and wake up my (then) baby boy. I showed up to work with my dress inside out AND backwards. Yikes.

Hahaha. This is totally something I've done before, I'm glad that I'm not alone. :)

I can relate! I'm stunned by how much extra time I have on the mornings when I stick with the first outfit I put on. :)

Haha oh no!! One time, I put new jeans on and asked my husband to double check I had all the tags off. He said I was good to go.

Well, we went to a football game that night. A random stranger stopped me because I had the size sticker on my back leg. I couldn't believe my husband didn't really check when I asked him. LOL!

Hope you have a great weekend!

That's awesome, I can totally relate to those internal debates. Mine usually happen in the morning, when I convince myself Im actually really fast at getting ready and therefore can afford to keep sleeping. Never really works out well...

Laughed at lout at this, not at all at you, because I have done this SO MANY TIMES. Or when you make extra time and get all nice and pretty and put together, and then spill coffee all down your shirt the minute you sit down at your desk. My mama always did say my middle name wasn't Grace for a reason...

Hahaha people are constantly taking stickers off of my clothes. I can never see them.

so hilarious! haha stickers are such a bummer when were not kids:)

hahah this post was quirky and made me smile! Although the M still found its way onto your shirt, I could say your ironing decision still was enough for pride :)

Haha! I walked all the way to work one day to find I left the giant size sticker on the back of my jeans (you know the one that runs all the way down the leg.) So cool! x

I do this all the time...at least you tried to have yourself together. Haha.

Sarah said...

haha....and this is why I don't buy things or don't wear things that need to be ironed :)

Haha. That is too funny! I like to take care of a bunch of ironing all at once. That way, chances are anything I grab is safe. Or, if I'm really organized, I do a week's worth of outfits at a time.

Aw, this has happened to me too!
Once when I was walking, I saw a man with the jean size sticker on his pants and he found out it was still on, so he ripped it off right in front of me looking so embarrassed. I felt so bad for the guy, but hey, it happened to us all!

Carrie {Living It Up in U.P.} said...

Oh no! Hope your shirt isn't ruined. I've left stickers on my clothes many times, always makes me shake my head.

haha yep - this has happened to me before too!

I'm impressed that you iron, period. I think I have ironed my clothes maybe 5 times in my life. Really. Thankfully my husband irons his own shirts. I don't use an iron...
