glad you're here, spring

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again every April for the rest of my life.  I swear the grass has never been this green, the flowers have never been so bright, the sunsets have never been this vibrant, and the birds have never sung so beautifully.

Last night I told Matt I was going to sleep in the hammock, and were it not for the red flashing lights he installed around our yard to mimic the red eyes of a predator and scare the deer away from our garden, while simultaneously cementing our position as best neighbors on the block, I would have.

Ok, but this is super important: do the lights work? Because my in-laws have tried everything (animal urine, deer blood, motion activated sprinklers, etc.) and the deer still devoured evvvverything. :)

Ooooo I'll take some of those rice krispies please!
Oh how I love spring! I'll take that glass of wine and those rice krispie treats and enjoy them on the hammock. Have a fabulous week <3

Your pictures are seriously awesome - what kind of camera do you use?! And hilarious about the red lights. Never heard of that!

Too funny about the red flashing lights...otherwise the hammock would have been a sweet slumber. Loving all the Spring flowers and blooms around your garden.

I love all of the pictures of the beautiful flowers...and those rice krispy treats! Do the lights really work? I HATE the deer! They are so destructive. Have a happy Monday!

I have to say, red flashing lights that mimic the eyes of a predator sound a bit creepy....
But hurrah for Spring! It's the best.

Beautiful pictures. I want rice krispie treats now. Do the lights help with deer?

I think this is why Spring is so beautiful ... to help us forgive it for causing those darn allergies. Mine are so awful right now!

Love the colors and the idea of spring, but not the pollen everywhere, haha. I did fall asleep in the hammock on Friday for a few. It was glorious.
Gorgeous pictures! That hammock looks like the perfect reading spot!!

Those tulips are gorgeous! I don't really like spring (mainly because of bugs and allergies), but these pictures are great. Flowers are my favorites.
The tape over the laptop camera- hahaha!

Spring just threw up on your blog with all these beautiful pictures :)
Makes me so glad winter is headed out the door!
stupid question, where do you get those eggs wrapped in foil in your picture? are they hollow? i know this sounds crazy. i just can't find them here.
also, those red lights sound terrifying.
I love how everything is blooming in April as well! It just helps to lighten up the mood after winter!
SUCH beautiful pictures, Laura! I love them all! Isn't this time of year just perfect?

Those chickens are so cute! And wow, those flowers are gorgeous. I love springtime so much! I went to the zoo a couple weeks ago, and there were tulips everywhere and it was the best.

Gorgeous flowers! I just love Spring :)
What a beautiful weekend. Love all the Spring flowers and colors.
I am soooo jealous of all this Spring goodness!

And how heavenly does your hammock spot look?!?!
I'm loving all the fresh blooms right now too! And we have a camping hammock, that I seriously want to sleep in sometime. But then I fear the birds will pop on me. Or Bears will get me. Or spiders will crawl in from all over. So it has yet to happen...

Happy spring!!! I love all your pictures.
Beautiful pics! The last one is my favorite simply because it looks like my favorite way to relax - wine, a hammock, a sunset, and a book. OMG.
Spring is such a favorite! Your pictures are beautiful and pull in all the best of spring.
